Late in 2017 John McEachren of Chase's Dream and the Rotary Foundation committed to providing an second AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to the Barrie Soccer Club. The new AED is to be installed on the exterior of the building to make this life saving equipment readily available when it would be most useful for our members. Thanks to an initiative proposed by Ian Beattie at our 2017 AGM, this effort came together very quickly. The unit was to be delivered in late December but weather stalled that effort and it is now expected the unit will be installed either on the back wall of the building or mid-field for the commencement of 2018 outdoor play. To make ourselves ready, the Club offered free AED training to Coaches, Managers and staff on January 20th. Garry Chandler of Rescue 7, trained a total of 13 participants at the Club who were put through their paces in the four hour session. (Pictured is Club Director of Finance Sheila Mifsud)
