On Tuesday, March 6, 2018 all parties of the Ontario Legislature passed Bill 193 Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 into law. Bill 193 is named after 17 year old Rowan Stringer who died as a result of concussion related sport

injuries. The new legislation requires sport organizations to enact Removal From & Return To Sport Protocols and requires all coaches to provide confirmation of reviewing concussion awareness resources. The Barrie Soccer Club currently has in place a Concussion Policy PP-0244-00 and Return to Play Requirements PP-0244-01 relating to players who have been diagnosed with a concussion and will review and update them accordingly.
