Members,

We are happy to announce that the Barrie Soccer Club has applied to be an organization that gives back to our youth volunteers in support of the Canada Student Service Grant (CSSG) program. This program will provide post-secondary students an incentive for volunteering by making them eligible to apply for the CSSG ($1000-$5000 to be used towards post-secondary education).

Students will be required to complete a minimum of 100 hours (25 hours will be granted for online training—COVID, harassment, etc...). Hours can be completed within the Barrie Soccer Club by coaching or assisting on the soccer field, website design, admin, redesigning brochures, maintenance, field marshalling, the list goes on. Therefore students of all backgrounds are welcome; we will utilize your individual skill set to ensure that you get the most of this experience and enjoy the summer working with friends.

Eligible students include:

  • Student enrolled in part-time or full time post-secondary education (PSE) in spring/summer/ September 2020

  • Graduated from PSE no earlier than Dec 2019

  • Be a Canadian citizen

  • Canadian students who study abroad but are currently residing in Canada

** Please note that students collecting Canada Emergency Student Benefit are eligible to apply however those collecting CERB are not eligible to apply.

These two documents can be downloaded and cover information regarding this program and provide more information about eligibility. Document 1 Document 2
